Knitted Coffee Cozy Tutorial

It might come as a surprise to you, but I love coffee.

And Aly introduced me to the wonderful world of coffee cozies.

I also happen to love knitting (another surprise, I'm sure!)... and teaching other people how to knit.

So, yes... you guessed it! Another tutorial today! This one will show you how to make your very own knitted coffee cozy! (For amazing quilted ones, please visit Aly's Etsy shop! I own about a dozen... and can, first hand, attest to their true value and beauty!)

Knitted Coffee Cozy

Need:
Size 8 needles (They don't have to be very long, as it's not a big project.)
Worsted weight yarn works best.
Optional: Yarn needle for seaming back.

Directions:
Cast on 38 stitches.
K1, P1 for first 6 rows.
Row 7: K1, P1, YF, *K1, P1* repeat until last stitch. YF before knitting last stitch.
Row 8 - 12: Stockinette stitch. (Row 8 should be a purl... Row 9 is knit, row 10 is purl, row 11 is knit, row 12 is purl...)
Row 13: Knit 1, YF, knit until before last stitch where you YF again then knit last stitch.
Row 14 - 19: K1, P1
Row 20: Cast off using K1, P1 cast off.
Cut 12" of yarn to seam up back using a mattress stitch.

All done! Now go enjoy a nice cup of coffee (or tea)!

What a great surprise! The first time I visit your blog and I find a tutorial. LOVE that! I'll be making one (or 5!) of these. I'll also be linking to this in the Daily DIY!
