Fans and feathers.

My books came today!

I've already picked out and started my first new stitch--fans & feathers! I'm using scrap cotton yarn I had stashed away for a project just this size. After three attempts (because I kept losing count), I finally got it started properly. Assuming stitching continues smoothly, I should have a decent sized swatch completed by tomorrow to show. My yarn is rainbow colored... and seeing how the rainbows are forming in the fans and feathers is looking very neat, indeed. I'm excited to see what it looks like with more than a couple rows done.

Julio, my coffee plant, is doing so well, dear Internet. I've moved him to the windowsill where the sun shines brightly every morning... and, in the short time since the move, he's grown several new leaves. I read somewhere that he'll make coffee beans in 5 years.

Other random things going on:

  1. I am approximately 75% done with my Crammed Organisms pieces.
  2. All 5 sets of my stitch markers are done and packaged to go for the Stitch Marker Exchange.
  3. It got up to 77 degrees here today.
  4. I am done with the cuff on my sock. Now I'm not entirely sure what to do next...
  5. Glade makes a candle called "peaches & petals." I highly recommend it.
Okay. All done for now. Time to go knit more fans and feathers. Auf Wiedersehen.
