Today I worked more on The Sultana in ceramics. She's almost done! Wednesday I plan to finish the coiling process and hopefully can then begin her facial features. The issue at hand now is finding a kiln big enough to fire her once she's glazed. The bisque-to-greenware phase won't be an issue... as she can be turned on her side for that firing in the smaller kilns we have at school. But once the glaze is on, she has to remain upright so the glaze can "bleed" properly. Right now I only have one option, and it involves a 3 hour round trip drive to be taken on two occasions to the main campus (once to drop her off... and once to pick her up). Hopefully we'll find another solution that doesn't involve so much driving. In the yarn world, I've been working more on my sock (yes, singular sock... as I've not yet finished even one). I turned the heel this afternoon (which wasn't NEARLY as bad as I had imagined it was going to be) and am now working on the gusset. Sock #1 should be done tomorrow.
(Did I tell you, dear Internet, that I ordered a ball winder? I feel sure that I'm way more excited about this than I need to be. But I can't stop thinking about taking all my yarn and turning it into beautiful center-pull balls. I dream about the day I see the box from Knit Picks on my stoop.)
I'm also working on a hat that's going to be felted. I stitched some fun fur eyelash yarn into it, too. I'm anxious to get that done so I can see how the two yarns work together once felted. (Sydney decided to help out by trying on the beginnings of this hat.) This is also a semi-self-created pattern... which means there's a very good chance it'll come out looking more like a bucket instead of a hat.
I'm just that unpredictable.

Maybe I'll make a bucket hat.
